Have some non-FreeBSD related questions, or want just to chit-chat about anything that is not related to FreeBSD? This is the forum for you. Note: this is NOT a forum for technical questions about non-FreeBSD operating systems! Writing Python code is quick but running it is often slower than compiled languages. Fortunately， Python allows the inclusion of C based extensions so bottlenecks can be optimised away and often are. The numpy package is a good example of this, it’s really quite quick because a lot of the number crunching it does isn’t actually done by Python I am in the process of setting up an "NFS-proxy", a machine which mounts directories from an NetApp-filer using NFS3, and should re-export them using NFS4 (with Kerberos).

Jul 31, 2013 · I recently migrated approximately 100 rhel 6 machines from NFS3 to NFS4 (server is rhel 6.6, clients are a mix from 6.3 to 6.6). Things went pretty smooth until several hours into the new configuration, then things started running very slowly. Restarting the nfs server process clears the issue which seems to indicate the server is the problem. Be careful with the nfs mount. This setup defaults to nfs4 so be sure to specify if you want nfs3 on the command line or in fstab: nfs4 rpc.idmapd -fvvv At both ends will help you trace any mapping probs. mount -t nfs4 hh3:/home /home -osec=krb5 nfs3 make sure that rpc.statd is running at both ends mount -t nfs hh3:/home /home -osec=krb5,vers=3
The one you got right is that CIFS is much more chatty than NFS because of those additional MS capabilities. @Joeseph Spenner – Yes the NFS works well with breaks, as @Alex mentioned, you need to understand the configuration options that allow for that better performance based on your needs and requirements. The previous version of Package Manager did not support a means of interrupting the download or install of a batch of packages. For large packages, or a large number of packages such as when “Install All Canopy Packages” was pressed, this could take a long time to complete, especially over slower Internet connections. Or sporadic errors wen setting MTU to more than 1500. Or sporadic errors on full moon etc. And when everything kind of worked, I could never get quite what I should expect from Gig-E. So amongst other things, I used udp for my local nfs4 shares just to get transfers above 80MB/s peak. Jan 21, 2009 · HOWTO: Mount NFS shares under Windows 7 UNIX and Linux users have long been accustomed to networking over NFS, or Network File System . It’s been around for a quarter of a century, was made popular by SunOS, and if you can stomach it’s myriad security flaws, it’s always been the quickest, dirtiest way to share files between disparate systems.
Dec 06, 2019 · have a small fix to make to nfs4_validate_fspath() for an issue that Dan Carpenter reported, but I was waiting to see if there was anything else.-Scott On Wed, 20 Nov 2019, Scott Mayhew wrote: > Hi Trond, Anna, > > Here's a set of patches that converts NFS to use the mount API. (EDIT -> It's copying to the local recycle bin -> very stupid) Can this be set to always delete from network shares? Copying a file to the server is not visualized properly in Dolphin progress bar. Progress bar freezes until finished. Mar 31, 2008 · For a CPU test Niagara-2 and 16-core Intel box deliver about the same performance with 32 threads, while Niagara is slower for less number of threads. Sysbench memory test shows up-to 17GB/s for Niagara-2 blade, while only up-to 4GB/s for Intel 16-core box. Sysbench threads test - again, more threads more performance for Niagara-2. The Case for Larger than 2TB Virtual Disks.
